Students in the Preprimary and Elementary programs may begin the school day as early as 7:30 a.m. by prior arrangement. A maximum of 20 students begin the day with quiet activities lead by two qualifed staff members. At 8:30 a.m., they are escorted to their regular morning class.
All Day Program (ADP)
This program is available on an hourly basis from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. for children enrolled in the Preprimary Program or Extended Day. Students must attend their regular school session in order to be eligible to attend ADP that day.
Students who stay for lunch should bring a complete, nutritious meal in a clearly marked lunch box. Send an amount that can be eaten at one sitting and include any necessary utensils as well as a drink. No refrigeration facilities are available for lunches; however, there is a microwave available to heat up lunches. Children help to set up and clean their lunch environment. Lunch is eaten from 11:50 to 12:50. Active play-time is scheduled for 1 to 1:30. Rest time begins about 1:35 with a "storytime." Children rest for 30 minutes. Those who have not fallen asleep may then begin the afternoon activities. Nappers join the group as they awake, or they are awakened after 1 hour of sleep.
Afternoon activities supplement the other Montessori programs. Nutrition, art, science, music, health and safety activities are included. This program is available on a first-come, first-served basis. "Lunch Bunch" and specific blocks of time may be reserved for the year or by the month.
After School Program (ASP)
