Grace and Courtesy

Montessori Explained Series presents:

Grace and Courtesy

Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.

in the Conference Room

Among Dr. Montessori’s basic tenants of education for a peaceful world is Grace and Courtesy.

Remember those things your parents taught you about “polite society” ?

  • Let others go first.
  • Cover your mouth when you yawn.
  • Open the door and hold it for others.

These are just a few of the basics of respectful behavior we try to instill in your children at school. Is this teaching “values”? Well, yes it is. As Montessorians and parents who have chosen Montesssori education for our children we find that the practice of grace and courtesy cover a multitude of our societal ills and instill a respect for others and ourselves. No matter your background, religious faith, country of origin, or professional position we all desire a more gracious and kind society.

Want to learn more about how we practice grace and courtesy in the classroom and how you too can bring up kind and courteous citizens of the world? Join Ms. Machelle for morning tea to discuss this timely topic. Bring your thoughts and questions on specific situations with your children.
