West Lafayette is my hometown despite attending Culver Academy and Benedictine University for my educational career. I met my wife Melissa while working part-time at Marsh Supermarkets in 2002. Upon graduating from Benedictine in 2004 I returned home to WL and got my first professional job at Wintek Corporation in Lafayette as a Network Engineer. In 2010 the opportunity of a lifetime presented itself, I got together with a fellow colleague and we purchased the company and became business owners. In 2011 Melissa and I welcomed our first daughter into the world, Alexis. Alexis will be starting 1st grade at Klondike Elementary this fall. In 2015 we welcomed our second daughter, Avery.  Avery is looking forward to starting her Toddler class this fall at MSGL.

I am currently involved with the Greater Lafayette Business Expo Committee as well as mock interviews for Ivy Tech students looking for jobs in the technology field.

Some of my favorite activities are photography, aerial drones, college sport, traveling, and spending time with my family.

More About Oliver

How did you first become involved with Montessori education?

We were looking for a preschool that would work with our oldest daughter’s personality.

How do you think a Montessori education benefits children?

With the activities being child centered and driven, there is always something that piques the interest of all those in the class. Our daughter is very math focused and loves science. Because she is able to choose activities she enjoys, she is often more engaged in what she is learning.

What is your most memorable moment at MSGL?

My most memorable moment has been watching my daughter grow socially and become more confident in herself over the last 2 years. When she started at MSGL, she was very isolated because of her shy personality. She often did not want us to leave her and would cry. Now she walks into the room and knows exactly what she wants to do. Some days she even tells my wife to leave!
