Welcome! - Thursday, July 26, 2018

I am Somdatta and my son is a MSGL alumnus. He was in the Catalpa room from 2007-2009. So my journey with MSGL began in 2007 first as a volunteer, then as a substitute teacher and then an assistant teacher. I went for Montessori training at Seton Montessori Institute in Chicago in 2011 and became a certified Montessori teacher in 2012. I then became a lead teacher. I have been a part of this beautiful community for 11 years and am so excited to be sharing this journey with you this year.

Ginette grew up in The Netherlands. She and her husband moved to West Lafayette in 2003. Their two daughters are both MSGL alumni. She served as a Board member for two years, but learned that she enjoyed working in the classroom more. She became a substitute teacher and then an assistant teacher. She completed her paraprofessional training in Indy this summer.

Our heartiest welcome to all the new and returning families. We are looking forward to meeting all of you next week and getting to know and work with your beautiful children! Thank you all!

Montessori Explained Series presents:

Silent Journey and Discovery

Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

A teacher explaining a geography work to a parent

Have you ever wished you could experience Montessori through a child's eyes?  We would like to offer you the next best thing.

This is your opportunity to see the classrooms as your children do and to use the same materials they use to develop their bodies, minds, and spirits.

The Silent Journey and Discovery will take you on two guided tours of the school, starting as an infant and progressing through the Toddler, Preprimary, and Elementary classes.  silent journey.jpg

The first tour is silent, spending time in each room looking, but not touching.  The second tour is where you get to discover, use the materials, ask questions, and take part in the teacher's presentations.  We will wrap up by gathering together for refreshments and discussion.

New families to MSGL are strongly encouraged to attend.  Registration is required and limited to the first 36 families.  Childcare is available to all current MSGL students and their siblings ages 2 to 9.  The cost for childcare is $10 per child and includes age appropriate activities and pizza.  Reservations MUST be made for childcare. Once you have signed your child up for childcare, you will be billed. Food and staffing are based on registration numbers. Childcare cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the event. Thank you for your understanding.

Please register online today. Deadline to register is Friday, August 24th.

All events in the Montessori Explained Series qualify as part of the service hour requirement; up to a maximum of 6 hours.
