Freedom, Discipline, Respect:

Designing Better Transitions for children

Wednesday, October 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

Does your child have unexpected reactions to activities you might deem routine?  Our children can be overstimulated by our fast world. They don’t always have a solid footing with our concept of time.  The world is a huge mystery, full of enormous unknowns. As the guiding adults, the organization of their world and explorations need to be made thoughtfully.

Please join Cynthy Scruggs, a certified Montessori Preprimary teacher, to talk about helping children have less anxiety as they transition through the day.  Cynthy has been teaching for 30 years and would love to discuss ways to help you design a supportive environment at home to make transitions easier for your child.

We will be discussing routine areas such as:

  • To and from school
  • To and from bed
  • To and from visits to family and friends
  • Social outings and shopping
  • Sibling exclusive outings
  • Eating at restaurants
  • Dressing self

Light refreshments will be available for the evening.

This event is open to the public, but registration is required and limited to the first 36 families.  Childcare is available to all current MSGL students and their siblings ages 2 to 9. The cost for childcare is $10 per child and includes age appropriate activities and pizza.

Reservations MUST be made for childcare. Once you have signed your child up for childcare, you will be billed. Food and staffing are based on registration numbers. Childcare cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the event. Thank you for understanding.

Please register online today.  Deadline to register is Friday, October 19th.
