Session 1: June 7 - 25

Session I, June 7-25

We are very excited to announce that our first Summer Camp session will be devoted to the discovery of three amazing countries, all of which are very different in geographical location, history, art, music and food but united by one language, Spanish.  Throughout this journey we will experience all that these wonderful and unique places have to offer.  So sign up, get your passport ready and “ven a divertirte”!

Week 1: Spain Under The Sun: Everything Except the Siesta
Focus: Art / Music / History
Food: Tapas

Week 2: Mexico: Lindo y Querido
Focus: Piñatas / Flowers / Parades
Food: Tacos, Salsa, Guacamole

Week 3: Costa Rica: Pura Vida
Focus: Rain Forest / Volcanoes / Surfing
Food: Gallo Pinto

Furthermore at the forefront of the Summer Camp program is the atmosphere in which to have a really good time. Another big part of Summer Camp is tending to the gardens.  Therefore, I believe the horticulture can be a wonderful reason to get your hands dirty and your feet wet. Likewise the Friday Fun Days will continue with the tradition of Bike or Swim Days. A great effort will be made in balancing the spirit of summer with the dynamics of the Montessori Method across the curriculum.

Session II, July 12-30

We are excited for Summer Camp Session II.  The Theme will be Explorations in Art.

The focus of the 1st week will be experimenting with Color.  We will start with Primary Colors and move on to Secondary Colors with mixing.  We will also experiment with other areas including: finger painting, sponging, and brush painting.

Week 2: Pointillism, Abstract, and Realism

During the 2nd week, we will introduce different forms of painting including pointillism, abstract, and realism.

Week 3: 3-D Sculptures

The 3rd week will focus on creating 3-D Sculptures using different techniques.

We hope your little ones like to get their hands dirty.  We plan to continue with Friday Fun Days with Biking and Swimming.  The kids seem to really look forward to Fridays.

I am excited to share a few weeks this summer teaching the students a love for Art.
